Maternity Love

Pregnant.

Hey, I’ve been there, 3 times!

But I’m going to be 100% real here. I loved being pregnant! The stage in ones life where you can see your body change in a mater of weeks and grow a human inside of our body! It’s amazing, isn’t it? I wish I would’ve had the opportunity to had my three pregnancies documented in photos. First of all, I never saw it as something I would someday wish I did. The fact that I have probably somewhere a cell phone picture of either one of y pregnancies and I can’t blow it up and have it up in a frame in my home breaks my heart. This is why I would love to encourage any woman who is expecting their first, second, third, fourth or whatever number of child is on the way to document it! Each pregnancy is different, your age is different, the sex of the baby is different. And you will one day find yourself sentimental and want to go through photos and memories about your baby’s pregnancy; so why not have a maternity session?

Having a session like this doesn’t have to be a great deal expensive. And I am here to hopefully help you get some inspiration.

Dress: These dresses are not maternity dresses, they are normal dresses that have lots of flow and room in the front. So look for something like this to buy online, or if you can even borrow one from a friend even better.

Cake: This is a cookie cake, you can DIY it, by baking some ready to bake batter and make some big cookies and use buttercream as filling. Find a cute little sign to put on the top and Voila!

Flowers: The florist I collaborated for this particular shoot had lots of silks, she incorporated them in the bouquet, and the flowers in the background and all silk. So I set my backdrop stand and bent the silks over it, creating a beautiful and delicate garden. If you can hire florist to make you a crow, bouquet, extra flowers for the cake and some backdrop flowers and decorate for you then yay! Perhaps even ask if you can rent some silks. If not, places like Michaels have silk flowers and greenery that are great quality and look for YouTube tutorials to make your own bouquet.

Location: Rent a studio! The nice thing about having a session like this in a studio is that the images are clean, timeless and most importantly, you stand out and all the items you want to have in your photos are visible.

Photographer: This a time in your life that won’t last forever, so consider investing in a professional. Their experience and knowledge is something that comes in handy when it comes to moments like this. Ask for recommendations in your area for photographers. I suggest you base your choice based in their style and not their price. Because these are memories that you want to last a lifetime.

Pampas Grass Glamour

I have always had a deep love for Pampas Grass. It so weird to think that its basically a weed, but my oh my, what a beautiful weed it is!

I recently opened my own studio, and the one thing I knew I wanted in there before I even knew how I wanted it to look, was a Pampas Grass arrangement to be the main attention.

So, when Aubrees Floral Design reached out to me to ask if I wanted to collaborate on creating a beautiful styled bridal session with pampas grass, I immediately said “yes”. It turned out so beautiful, we worked along dis_tressme Wedding Planner, the table was from Taylor made Events, Cupcakes by Julie did such an amazing job as always with the cake, the dress was from Elizabeth Cooper Design and her line is absolutely beautiful, hair and makeup was the super fun Danielle Emett, it was a team effort for sure, at the end the entire set up and shoot was breathtaking!

To live in Southern Utah where mostly everything is desert, red rocks and sand I get to enjoy the outdoor so much, I am surrounded by so much beauty and talented people. I am so lucky to live here.

I love blogging because it allows me to show what I can do for you at your wedding. I want to reassure you that you are what is most import to me. I know how much planning, time and money goes into a wedding, so I am very detailed and thorough, everything on your wedding day, from family, friends, decorations, dress, suit, cake, HMU, jewelry, etc. I am there to capture it all.

I hope you all enjoy with me this Bridal Styled Shoot.

Red Mountain Love

I am so proud of this Styled Shoot, because it was my first shoot ever since I was in a car accident with my husband and 3 boys on January 1st, 2019.

I have done and set up styled bridal shoots in the past, but this one was mostly for me than for my followers to see.

I was excited to set this shoot up, I was running around collecting everything like a crazy person, I was super stressed and tired, but soo excited.

The day of the shoot, I didn’t have anyone to help me set up, I was frustrated and stressed because I was running out of time and I had to take everything with me in my car, making sure not to break any of the lanterns, plates, glasses or even my car window because of the things clinking inside.

But I was lucky enough that Danielle who is an amazing HMUA that was working on the model, was so sweet to tell me “Girl, I’ll help you set up!” And that was such a relief, because she has such an great vibe and positivity.

We got to the location late and I wasn’t sure if it was going to work out or not because the light was already dying down, and we had to carry and build the table, set it up, and make sure to secure the things on the table so the wind wouldn’t take it.

So, I put on some beats, embraced what we had and got to work!

Honestly, I wish I would’ve had more time, but I am happy with what we accomplished. I was definitely a team effort.

The shoot did so well, that I am so proud and honored to say that it was featured in a magazine that is so important to the wedding industry in Utah… This shoot was featured in Utah Valley Bride!!! My dream come true! The one magazine I have always dreamt of being featured in! The one magazine I have worked for all these years! And it finally happened!

So, remember this. You will hear no, a lot. But it doesn’t and it shouldn’t mean that you have to quit! It means work harder, let it be your fuel to be creative, to try something new.

I hope you like this, and please feel free to leave your comments and share this blog…

Desert Engagement

When Rick initially called me, he told me that he had found me on Facebook and loved my style and wanted to hire me to take his daughter Brooke and fiancé Dallen’s engagement photos.

I live in St. George UT. and Brooke lives north from me in Provo UT. while Dallen was stationed in Palm Springs CA. so I was smack in between them, so, our meeting point was St. George.

Let me tell you something, as a photographer it feels completely exciting to have people come from a few hours away just for you to take their photos, so I knew I wanted to give them photos that are in a place that is in sense, timeless, natural and very true to Utah.

So we went to the desert, and we did some smoke bombs in the river…
